Mayor: Conditions at Checkpoint on Jalan Daan Mogot Look More Conducive

West Jakarta Mayor, Uus Kuswanto, inspected the checkpoint post for Emergency Public Activity Restrictions (PPKM Darurat) on Jalan Daan Mogot, Kalideres, on Wednesday (7/7).

So far everything is under control and traffic jams have started to calm down

Entering the fifth day, he stated that activities in the border area between Jakarta and Tangerang City, Banten, precisely on Jalan Daan Mogot looked more conducive than before.

"This is because many residents already understand which vehicles are prioritized for crossing the barrier post and which are allowed to enter Jakarta area," he expressed.

Here is Tourism Business Policy During PPKM Darurat

West Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency Head, Erwansyah said that as many as 50 personnel had been alerted at the location.

He explained that the checkpoint on Jalan Daan Mogot was the main focus, because of the high volume of passing vehicles. Even, on the first day of work or Monday (7/5), the queue of vehicles in the area had stretched up to 105 meters in the morning.

"So far everything is under control and traffic jams have started to calm down," he added.

In the field, his party was continuously intensifying socialization and education about PPKM Darurat to the public as an effort to stop the spread of Covid-19.

"We also do evaluations. One of them is about increasing the number of plastic barriers or traffic cones to support the existence of the blocking post," he said.
